The Importance of Getting Pre-Qualified
The first major step in the home-buying process is to get pre-qualified for your loan. This is not to be confused with a full-on loan approval. Your pre-qualification will be based on basic information about your income, monthly expenses, credit score and other initial data you provide. Actual loan approval will come later on, once you send in documentation to support this information.

After you’ve found your property and made an offer, it’s time to secure your loan and send in various documents requested by your loan officer. The lender will also order an appraisal to verify what the home is worth. Once all the information is verified and accepted by an underwriter, your loan will move into the closing process.
